Beretta Model 21A Bobcat Refreshed Color Schemes
Beretta has upgraded its line of Model 21A Bobcat pocket pistols. The compact pistol has been around for over 70 years in different versions, and now Beretta is adding three additional colorways to choose from for the .22lr version.
The “mouse gun” is designed for maximum concealment. With three different colors to choose from, surely more people will start to see the appeal of the pistol. Now available in what Beretta calls Kale Slushy, Ghost Buster, and Silver Black Gorilla, the pistol is said to fit perfectly into pockets, purses, and bags to be where you need it when you need it.
The tip-up-barrel design of the pistol is said to be wholly produced within the US, with the 21A being the .22lr version of the .45ACP Model 21. Labeled the Bobcat, the Model 21A has the general feel and function of its predecessors with an alloy frame to keep the weight down.
Previously available in a satin-blued finish and nickel, the new colors need no real explanation of the color schemes. The Kale Slushy is what you’d expect with tones of green throughout the pattern. The Ghost Buster is an all-grey/matte silver color scheme, and the Silver Black Gorilla is exactly that. The colors are available on the Covert standard Model 21A, which has an extended 2.9” barrel, up from the 2.5” barrel of other models, and is threaded 1/2×28 with a thread protector.
Beretta did not get rid of the old favorites of matte black finish, aluminum Inox, and the FDE colors. Continuing with the older standards, the tip-up-barrel design allows the user to load a round directly into the chamber without having to rack the slide and allows for an easier clearing of the weapon when necessary. The pistol also is quick and easy to clean, thanks to that tip-up barrel, making it a breeze to access and clean the chamber, bore, and breech face all without full disassembly of the pistol.
The Beretta Model 21A Bobcat comes with a 7-round capacity magazine making it 7+1 overall and has an overall height of 3.7 inches and length of 5.4”. While small, the weight is small at 14.5 ounces unloaded. The pistol has a larger price tag, whether from the Beretta name or not, with an MSRP of $649.
