SIG Sauer P320 X-Ten: Finally, a 10mm P320

The much-talked-about Sig Sauer P320 X-Ten has finally been officially announced. There’s no denying the rampant popularity of the original P320 platform, which is a 9mm, and now Sig will be offering that model chambered in the harder-hitting 10mm.

The P320 X-Ten has a number of features specific to supporting its larger caliber and is being marketed to hunters and self-defense shooters alike.

Sig Sauer released the following information about the P320 X-Ten:

The latest addition to the SIG P320 family brings all of the features of the XSeries into a carry style handgun in 10mm for shooters and hunters looking for performance to the power of 10. The P320-XTEN comes standard with a 5” bull barrel, Xray3 day/night sights, and an XSeries optic-ready slide with front and rear serrations.  For those looking for even more precision, every P320-XTEN is optic ready and compatible with the SIG SAUER ROMEO2 reflex optic which is designed to withstand the abuse the 10mm cartridge delivers.  To reduce the recoil, a completely redesigned XSeries polymer grip module provides a strong purchase and stippled finish and makes shooting comfortable for any type of round.  Each P320-XTEN comes standard with two 15-rd magazines. The new SIG P320-XTEN takes performance to the power of 10.

Yes, you can use 10mm for defense against two-legged threats, it isn’t limited to hunting or defending yourself against four-legged predators. As with any firearm, you are responsible for every shot fired, and as long as you adhere to the four safety rules, you’ll be fine. The P320 X-Ten is a fantastic tip of the hat to the usefulness and versatility of the 10mm cartridge and the gun’s bull barrel and fully textured grip make it clear the gun is meant for serious use.
