Jagerwerks B.R.O.S.: SRO Protection – The Mag Life
Although red dot sights are usually designed to withstand bumps and scrapes, it’s entirely possible to damage one. That’s especially true of some designs that grant you a larger field of view but might have a housing more prone to breaking. The Jagerwerks B.R.O.S. (Battle Ready Optic Shield) is made to fix that problem by serving as a protective guard for the Trijicon SRO.
By adding the B.R.O.S. to your gear, you get peace of mind and the gift of putting your rifle to work without worrying about your SRO.
Jagerwerks provides details regarding the optics shield:
100% Made in Michigan out of Tig welded grade 304 stainless steel then black nitride coated for years of worry-free service.
This product is designed to increase the durability and resistance to impact damage of your optic in real life situations.
According to Murphy’s law we will not warranty your optic against neglect or abuse.
Does not include mounting screws. We recommend using our RMR/SRO #6-32 7/16″ IP15
Weight is 1 oz or 28 grams. Metal thickness is 1mm or .040″.
There is a slight bend on the ejection (right) side of the shield. This is to deflect brass.
SRO is NOT included.
Unlike some products that simply snap over an optic, the Battle Ready Optic Shield from Jagerwerks is all-encompassing.
It’s designed so the Trijicon SRO sits inside it and the entire setup is then mounted to the rifle or pistol. This ensures you’re not getting only a sliver of protection, you’re getting the best possible coverage. Even better, Jagerwerks made the shield so having it in place doesn’t stop you from operating the SRO. Controls aren’t hindered by the use of the B.R.O.S.
Just as the Trijicon SRO can be used on long guns or handguns, the B.R.O.S. is compatible with whatever platform you’ve chosen to mount your red dot on. It’s easy to install, with no gunsmith required. Simply remove the SRO from your gun, drop the red dot inside the B.R.O.S., and screw it in place. The B.R.O.S. does not automatically ship with screws, so if you need new screws, be sure to select that option when ordering.
For shooters running their pistols with Safariland holsters, Jagerwerks provides a connect to Ghost Men Designs.
MSRP for the Jagerwerks Battle Ready Optic Shield is set at $50.00 and goes up to $57.00 with the addition of mounting screws.
What do you think, would you install one of these to protect your SRO?
