New Gun Releases

Another pistol has been approved by the California Department of Justice Laboratory Certification and Handgun Testing process, allowing it to be listed on the State’s “Roster of Certified Handguns.” The Franklin Armory CA320 handgun. Franklin Armory, the US-based firearms and accessories manufacturer, has three other models on that list.

With the CA320 pistol being listed on that roster, California State residents can now purchase the pistol. The CA320 is said to be highly sought after by those residents and is a reliable, California-compliant pistol. The CA320 allows owners to have a handgun that is similar in performance to the Sig Sauer P320.

The CA320 is the first optics-ready pistol to be put on the Roster. It comes with factory night sights. Additionally, the CA320 has an ambidextrous safety and, according to the company, is potentially compatible with Sig P320 grip modules. It is chambered in 9x19mm.

“CA320 builds upon Franklin Armory’s trailblazing track-record of firearms innovation,” said the company’s President Jay Jacobson. “CA320 is further affirmation of Franklin Armory’s enduring commitment to support the Second Amendment rights of Americans living in restrictive jurisdictions.”

The three other Franklin Armory models on the Roster in California are the CA7, CA11, and CA12. The CA7 is chambered in 5.56 NATO and was the first AR pistol on the Roster. The CA11 is an AR pistol chambered in .300 Blackout while the CA12 is chambered in .350 Legend as an AR pistol.

One source showed the CA320 listed at just under $1,000, but no information regarding the pistol was readily available. However, FFL holders from the state of California can reach out to Franklin Armory for more information or check them out at SHOT Show 2023 in Las Vegas.

The Santini Eyewear harkens back to the US Air Force Type HGU-4P Aviators sunglasses, but with new materials. Magpul’s spin on the popular sunglasses makes them more reliable with impact protection with a casual design. It has a low-profile temple design that keeps the wearer comfortable and functional with hats or ear protection. According to the company, Santini Eyewear fits all facial profiles and has anti-slip adjustable rubber nose pads for all-day comfort.

The latest gun to join the Sig Sauer P365 lineup is the ROSE, and it isn’t just a gun, it’s an entire experience.

Sig teamed up with competitive shooter Lena Miculek to create a video training program that buyers of the Sig ROSE have access to, and it’s also linked an online community. It’s impossible to even think about 500 Magnum without remembering when Dirty Harry called the 44 Magnum the most powerful handgun in the world. Of course, it’s actually the 500 Magnum that wins that honor, as it is currently the most powerful production handgun cartridge on the market. That makes it a worthy caliber for handgun hunters, one capable of dropping game of all sizes. For those interested in some serious power, Taurus is now manufacturing their Raging Hunter in 500 Magnum. The popular hunting revolver has proven itself as a well-balanced, reliable gun, and this magnum addition just makes it better.

For 2023, Taurus is making a few additions to their popular Raging Hunter family. First up is the new Raging Hunter 500 Magnum, a revolver that will send some seriously big bullets down range. Second, but no less fantastic, is the addition of a 10.5-inch barrel model 460 Magnum Raging Hunter. That gun features a proprietary compensator designed to somewhat mitigate felt recoil and muzzle rise from the magnum cartridge.

The 500 Magnum Raging Hunter promises to be an excellent choice for handgun hunters in 2023. It features the Taurus double lock system, for reliable cycling with high-pressure magnum rounds, just as all Raging Hunters do, and it’s made to withstand hard use. This gun will be available in a range of barrel lengths, giving gun owners a choice of whether they want a 500 Magnum best suited to hunting large game, use as a backcountry carry gun, or for range use.

Then there’s the newest addition to the 460 Magnum lineup, the 10.5-inch barrel model. This revolver has a custom compensator, which is its most unique and useful feature. The muzzle device is made to reduce the felt recoil of 460 Magnum for the shooter, which improves accuracy and speeds up follow-up shots (an especially useful feature if you’re using it for defense against predators). It also has top and bottom Picatinny rails, making it easy to mount optics to the gun. As for that bottom rail, it’s a great place to put a bipod or weapon-mounted light or laser.

Handgun hunting is a sport that’s picked up a greater following in recent years, and the addition of more magnum options to the Raging Hunter line should draw even more people. With these guns, it’s possible to hunt everything from coyotes to deer to elk. And thanks to the overall design of the Raging Hunter line, these guns don’t produce the aggressive, snappy recoil of many other magnum revolvers. These guns are a legitimate choice for new or seasoned hunters, and they’re also plain fun to shoot.

Tisas, the Tennessee-based purveyor of 1911 variants, has expanded its Duty Rail line of single stack 1911 pistols to include the Raider model. The Raider version of the Duty Rail 1911 is a faithful reproduction of the M45A1 service sidearm used by the Marine Corp Special Operations folks around the world, according to Tisas.

The Tisas 1911 Raider is a .45 ACP pistol, like the other 1911s, featuring a 5” cold hammer forged barrel with a matte stainless barrel bushing and recoil spring plug. The pistol features Colt Series 70 internals with a titanium firing pin.

The slide is government length and has been constructed from forged carbon steel, along with the full-sized forged carbon steel frame that features a 1913 Pic rail. Additionally, the slide features front and rear serrations for better manipulations. On the top of the slide is a Novak three-dot pattern sight set up with a skeletonized hammer on the back.

The full-sized grips feature an undercut trigger guard and a beavertail grip safety for secure handling of the weapon. Inside that trigger guard sits the sold black trigger. The grips are G10 black and flat dark earth (FDE) pattern with the 25 LPI checkering along and lanyard loop on the flat mainspring housing. To round out the frame is an improved ambidextrous thumb safety.

The Tisas 1911 Raider pistol has a flat dark earth Cerakote finish and weighs 2 lbs. 4 ounces. The Raider comes from Tisas with two 8-round stainless steel magazines with base plates. Like other Tisas products, the Raider also comes with a premium lockable hard case, cleaning kit, bushing wrench, trigger lock, manual, and Tisas Lifetime Service Plan.

When Taurus decided to take their revolvers to the next level, they launched the Executive Grade line. First came the 856, and now they’ve launched the Taurus Judge Executive Grade. Red dot sights are now preferred by numerous shooters; gone are the days when red dots were rarely seen on the firing line, let alone on defensive handguns. Of course, adding a red dot to a handgun often means finding the correct mounting plate or having the slide of the gun milled. And while manufacturers have worked to create an increasing number of optics-ready semi-autos, revolvers have fallen by the wayside. No more, though, thanks to Taurus. The latest innovation in revolvers comes from Taurus in the form of the T.O.R.O. line of optics-ready revolvers. Yes, you read that right.

According to Taurus, these revolvers came about as the result of a customer survey back in October 2022. Today the company is pleased to announce the first-optics ready small frame revolvers to hit the market, the Taurus 856 T.O.R.O. and 605 T.O.R.O. Both guns are milled at the factory to be compatible with the optics plate meant for this specific use. The plate works with red dots with a Holosun K footprint.

The ability to run a small-frame revolver with a red dot on it is a fantastic step for those focused on self-defense. Many shooters prefer red dots due to how they’re designed to draw the eye and facilitate rapid target acquisition. Also, red dots can be zeroed for precision when using specific ammunition. This means your optics-ready revolver could function at a significantly greater level than it did with fixed iron sights.

Both the 856 and 605 T.O.R.O. are based on the company’s Defender line. Revolvers in this line have rugged, steel construction, three-inch barrels, and replaceable front sights. Their smaller size allows them to be more readily concealed while their steel frames lend themselves to better balance and somewhat mitigate felt recoil. As for the triggers used in these guns, they’re the gun maker’s popular double-action/single-action that’s designed for a smooth pull.

Anderson Manufacturing, a family-owned Kentucky-based firearms manufacturer, has partnered with Advanced Armament Company (AAC) to expand Anderson’s offerings to include a series of suppressor-ready firearms, rifles, and pistols. The seven guns are tuned and equipped to host a suppressor right out of the box.

With this new series, Anderson’s Product Engineer, Truman Brough, hopes to ease the process for consumers to shoot suppressed, “We’ve teamed up with AAC, a world-class suppressor manufacturer, to offer this new series of Suppressor Ready firearms, tested and tuned with Select AAC suppressors. Each firearm has unique features to make it easier than ever to start shooting suppressed the moment your new tax stamp clears.”

Anderson A4 Series

The A4-2000 pistol has the Anderson 10.5” barrel chambered for 5.56 with a front sight and a 1:7 twist rate. The A4-2000 operates on a carbine-length gas system inside a T-Market quad rail handguard. It has an SBA3 Pistol Stabilizing Brace along with a Magpul Flip-up rear sight on the end. The firearm has an AAC 51T Blackout Flash Hider muzzle device that will allow for use with a suppressor. It also features a heavier buffer with the H3 to slow the cyclic rate adding reliability when the system is suppressed. Anderson Manufacturing tested the system with the AAC Ranger 5 suppressor with good results. The firearm has an MSRP of $939.99.

AM-15 Series

The AM-15 Specter Pistol also features a 10.5” barrel, but this one is chambered in 300BLK and has a twist rate of 1:8, and the 51T Blackout Flash Hider. It runs on a pistol-length gas system inside the free-floating Anderson 9.5” MLOK handguard. The pistol also has the SBA3 Pistol Stabilizing Brace, Magpul K2 grip, and a Breek Arms Warhammer Micro Mod2 charging handle. The AM-15 Specter pistol was tested with the AAC Ranger 7 suppressor and has an MSRP of $799.99)

The AM-15 Specter Rifle has a 16” barrel chambered in 5.56 and also features the 51T Blackout Flash Hider. The rifle has a mid-length gas system in the Anderson 15” free-floating MLOK handguard. It features the Breek Arms Warhammer Micro Mod2 charging handle along with the Magpul K2 grip and Anderson adjustable carbine stock. It was tested with the AAC M4-2000 and Ranger 5 suppressors. The MSRP for the AM-15 Specter rifle in 5.56 is $870.

AM-9 Series

The AM-9 Series pistol features an 8” Anderson PCC Profile barrel that has been fitted with an Anderson Knight Stalker flash hider. The barrel sits inside a 6.75” MLOK handguard. The pistol has an SBA3 Pistol Stabilizing brace and like other Anderson Manufacturing weapons, it has a Magpul K2 grip. This model has the LRBHO (last round bolt hold open) feature and comes with one 27-round GL9 PMAG. It was tested with the AAC TI-Rant 9M-HD suppressor in both long and short configurations. The weapon has an MSRP of $899.99.

AM-10 Generation II Series

The last rifle from Anderson Manufacturing in the Suppressor Ready Series is the AM-10 Silent Ranger rifle chambered in .308 Winchester. The Silent Ranger has an 18” barrel with a 51T Blackout flash hider on the muzzle. It has a mid-length gas system inside the 15: Anderson Stable-Lock handguard. It also features a Schmidt Tool two-stage trigger, Breek Arms Warhammer Micro Mod2 charging handle, and also has all the same Magpul furniture. It was tested with the AAC Ranger 7 suppressor and has an MSRP of $1,200.

Kiger-9C

The Kiger-9C SR is chambered in 9mm, and according to Anderson Manufacturing, it is the dark horse in the market. It is a striker-fired, locked-breech, semi-auto pistol with all the suppressor-ready features. It boasts suppressor height sights, a threaded barrel, and a finely tuned recoil spring. It was tested with the AAC TI-Rant 9M-HD suppressor in the short configuration. The Kiger-9C has an MSRP of $499.99.

The second pistol is the optic-ready variant of the Kiger-9C pistol, the Kiger-9C Pro SR. The compact 9mm pistol has a skeletonized slide with suppressor height sights. It also has a threaded barrel and the same tuned recoil spring. It was also tested with the AAC TI-Rant 9M-HD suppressor in the short configuration. The Kiger-9C Pro SR has an MSRP of $549.

Mossberg, one of the leaders in precision bolt-action rifles, has an update to the Patriot family with the Patriot LR (Long Range) Tactical bolt-action rifle. The updated Patriot LR bolt-action rifle is available in the most popular long-range calibers: 6.5 Creedmoor, 308 Win, and 6.5 PRC.

Taking the proven Patriot platform, the Patriot LR Tactical has a twin-lug push-feed steel action with a medium bull barrel. The carbon steel barrel has an 11-degree match crown, a matte blue finish, and is threaded 5/8”-24 which is perfect for a suppressor.
